This home is an updated Ranch house on Madison's west side in the Westmoreland Neighborhood. A summer porch was added in 1960 and in 2008, vinyl thermopane windows were installed along with new doors, and a carpeted sub-floor. The same year, the kitchen was gutted and rebuilt with a new subfloor and 20" X 20" ceramic tile, new maple cabinetry, an enlarged entry way, and a reconfiguration of the stove placement to enable range exhaust to the outside. By 2009, vinyl thermopane windows were installed all the way around the home, except in the small room adjacent to the garage. In 2014, the oak floors in the living room and two bedrooms were resanded and refinished with polyurethane. A refinished half-lite rear door to the garage was installed in the fall of 2014 and a new garage door and opener were installed in the spring of 2015. A new half-lite door with with a camed window and a new bright brass entry door lock and handle, along with a new storm door were added in the fall of 2014 as well. The 50-year old electric water heater was removed in 2005 and replaced with a gas water heater venting through the chimney. The laundry room was redone and is now fitted with top of the line washer and dryer. There is an additional non-conforming bedroom in the basement. In order to become a conforming bedroom, an egress window is required. Prior to 2009, this home was subject to basement flooding in the spring of each year. The basement was flood-proofed in the spring of 2009 and since then very little water has come into the basement. Much of the plumbing has been replaced in this home. There is a large garden in the back yard that has been replenished with top soil and augmented with annual applications of organic matter. This home is under lease until May 5, 2019.
