From the aged abstract, it shows that the house was part of the lumbering era of Winona when logs were floated down the mighty Mississippi River to the saw mills. The name “Laird” is recorded in the abstract. Laird was a lumber baron, and this part of town is known as the Laird addition, “Laird” street runs through it. There have been many families that have called this house home over the years. I myself have lived here for over 17 years and have renovated the home into a modern, comfortable feel.
