Contemporary/modern style home with raised granite fireplace (gas/wood), built-ins in living room and den, wet bar with split-level dining area, glass cube insert designs in room separations and window looking out onto private patio, upgraded kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steele fridge, wall to wall carpet in den, hardwood and tile throughout the rest, brand new (2008) sliding wood French doors leading to private (enclosed) 500 sq.ft. deck/patio; master suite with bath, walk-in closet, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto private patio, and skylights in vaulted ceiling; front balcony looking out onto the street, newly professionally painted throughout (2007), new silk Roman shades and curtains throughout, only one adjoining wall to other condo units Neighborhood Description While Colfax is a semi-busy street, especially during school hours (there is a middle school to one side and a grade school to the other, both with very good reputations), it’s still only one lane each way, and there are people walking their dogs every day. Turn the corners onto a side street, and you are immediately in the middle of beautiful, large lots with million dollar well-maintained homes. The yards are well-groomed, with lots of greenery. On one corner is one of L.A's most charming coffee shops, Marie Et Cie, where you can bring your laptop and enjoy yourself either out on their patio or inside their antique store. On the other corner is the local Market where you can pick up either butter or a bottle of wine quickly and often cheaper than the Supermarket. Continue walking to the Studio Cafe, serving all day, with a full bar and very good food. You may even see a celebrity or two there. Or if you prefer a very quaint coffee shop where you can also buy a full meal, also in walking distance is the well-known (and Hollywood A-List attended) Aroma Cafe, on Tujunga Ave, where there are a variety of shops and other eateries to enjoy as well. In the summer you can walk to the park on the corner of Laurel Canyon and Moorpark, and perhaps adopt a pet on some Sunday, or go to the bi-annual Arts and Crafts Fair they have, or enjoy the CBS fireworks from there on July 4th. Also on Sundays, you can walk a bit further to Laurel Canyon and Ventura Place, and buy your veggies for the week at the local Farmer's Market (about a mile from our home, we usually walk). At that point is also a local womens-only Gym, or for the entire family there is both an LA Fitness Studio and a 24 Hour Fitness close by. Vons, Ralph's, Trader Joe's, Gelsons - all in easy walking or driving distance, along with many other businesses. Studio City, and our area in particular, is very family friendly, and a wonderful place to live.
