Our building is on the National Register of Historical Places and features a blend of Art Deco & Spanish Colonial architecture. It is located in a designated historic district of Oakland. Our neighborhood is best known for being home to Oakland's crown jewel, Lake Merritt. The lake provides residents with over three miles of continuous walkway and bicycle paths around Lakeside Park and green spaces. Step outside our door, the park is home to Children's Fairyland, Playgrounds, Gardens at Lake Merritt, Protected Bird Sanctuary and Lake Chalet Restaurant. A local rowing club and boat house grace the lake with sailboats and sculls. The lakeside Pergola is one of the city's cultural spaces hosting public drum circles, dance classes and morning work-out sessions. Situated between Downtown Oakland and the Grand Lake neighborhoods we are quintessentially Oakland: diverse and vibrant. The Grand Lake, Fox and Paramount Theater/Music venues, Oakland Museum of California, excellent restaurants, coffee shops, lively bars, Saturday farmer's market with local music performers, gyms, yoga studios, public library and grocery stores are within a 15 minute walk from our home. The greater Bay Area is within easy reach, the transbay and local buses stop on the corner and 19th Street BART Station is a 15 minute walk. A pleasant boat ride from Jack London Square ferries you directly to the SF Ferry Building. Drive time to Berkeley averages 20 minutes and downtown San Francisco 25-35 minutes. Our seventh floor condo overlooks Lake Merritt and has breathtaking views from every room of Downtown Oakland, East Bay Hills and the San Francisco Peninsula Coastal Range. Our home has a galley style kitchen, formal dining room, spacious living room and two bedrooms (one king, one double bed) and two original art deco bathrooms. The condo is fully furnished, with all linens, generous closet space and a well appointed kitchen. It is a lovely place to entertain guests. The building has a 24 hr Doorkeeper, elevator and valet garage parking. Our building is a small tight-knit community of 35 homeowners. with three homes per floor. Due to the concrete construction we rarely hear noise from adjoining apartments. However, weekends can be noisy due to the proximity to Lake Merritt. Short term rental on fully furnished apartment.
