The second most populous city in the United States -- and yet, you can still live in a massive forest. We're not sure we could ever express in words how magical living at the Village Green has been. Especially during a pandemic. To have 68 acres of mature trees and grassy fields, green space to bike, scooter, and gather safely. It's been an absolute dream. This last year put so many things into focus for us -- and feeling connected to others, having and growing community, has been life saving. There are roughly 650 units here at the Village Green, which means there's a neighbor for everyone. I have known more neighbors in these few years at the green than I have known collectively in my entire life. While the interior of these condos is lovely, the entire point of the Village Green is to be outside, meeting people. There are outdoor concerts several times a year. Easter egg hunts for every age group. Yoga classes. Circus classes. Community produce gardens. Drinks on the Green. Outdoor movies. Fascinating speeches and presentations arranged by our cultural affairs committee. This community has built something so special and it is a blessing to be a part of it. Our specific unit here sits in a very quiet court. The two adjacent units to our south are owned, but have been unoccupied for over ten years. We are located very near the "equator" of the green, which means we're as far as possible from the streets that line the perimeter. We have a washer and dryer inside our unit, full house AC, dishwasher. The balcony off the larger bedroom looks out at a spread of giant leaves what we refer to as the "tree theater." So many days it feels like living in a tree house. When we first moved in, we hired a professional painter to create a realistic starscape across the bedroom ceiling. It is invisible during the day, charging naturally from the sun, and at night, the constellations and the Milky Way come alive. With the gentle spin of the ceiling fan in a dark room, it feels like you're sleeping outside. Treehouse by day, camping trip by night. Downstairs, we opened up the floor plan so that all the spaces connect. We built in an expanding desk to use as a home office if need be. Built in benches in the dining room add storage. And hidden behind the moving bookcase, is a secret wine cellar / bar we built ourselves, complete with beveled stone counter, beer taps, and barrel aged cocktails. While we have a dedicated dining room, more often than not we eat outdoors to say hi and visit with whomever happens to be walking by. This is really the true magic of this place. Another lovely detail about the Green is how connected to the rest of the city it is. Our family walks to the expo line to visit museums, the beach, or downtown. We walk to our local grocery store. This area is developing particularly quickly, and new restaurants and shops pop up constantly. It's been so fun seeing what new personalities the area has to offer. There's a private, detached, garage with built-in extra storage, just steps from the unit, plus plenty of additional parking. 24-hr security patrol w/ escort service. We are not leaving the Green, we're just renting this unit so we'll be your new neighbors too. Excited to get to know you better and introduce you to this beautiful community. * * * * * No pets. No smoking. Water and garbage paid by owner. Gas, electric and internet/cable paid by renter. Private garage for one car with the ability to register for another car to park in adjacent court (spots are not designated but are limited to occupants of the green overnight). Tons of parking spots are available on the perimeter of the property, so parking is never an issue for visitors.
