READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT ME! This house is in full renovation mode. When "finished" there won't be much of the original home left. The listing price is NOT negotiable, unless you are feeling generous and want to help out a disabled veteran and pay more. This property is certainly worth more than the asking price, despite the visual imagery. The materials alone required to build such a house AND GARAGE from scratch are worth more than the asking price, particularly when you consider the oversized three car garage made out of railroad ties and covered with a new metal roof. If you are truly interested EMAIL me. The phone number provided is a dead number that goes to a google voice account I don't use. If you wish to reach me you must do so via email - sjm7767@yahoo.com. Due to the number of scammers contacting me I've decided to require a very modest retainer. As for the house and my ownership - I bought the house, built in 1918, eight years ago with the intent of spending the next decade "fixing" it. There was a LOT of fixing required. I had hoped to work on new electricity after most of the other work had been done. Due to the poor condition of the wiring, which could easily have led to an electrical fire, I changed work order priorities and electrical came first. I had the local electrician bury the line from the pole so I could remove the overhead line to the house, which I did years ago. Now there is an underground line to the garage and from there to the house. Both the house and the garage have new service panels. I have NOT finished wiring and there is a lot left to do. I already have the materials on hand (line, boxes, covers, switches, etc). I decided to make the electrical work much easier to do by eliminating as much of the interior slat and mortar walls as I could. The brick chimney has also been destroyed. My home is not ready to house a family, but a single fellow like myself can move right it and continue my endeavor. About half the original house has hardwood floors that I look forward to restoring. The bathroom sink is new as is the tube. I use the clothes washer, but haven't hooked up the dryer yet. I prefer to air dry my clothes and a new gas line for the dryer has to be run. I just finished an email response to an inquiry. This is what I wrote: Yes, the house has been listed for months. I am not in a hurry to sell. I've set the price at what I'd be willing to pay for the home in its current condition. In fact, given the work, or more correctly destruction (largely of the interior slat/mortar walls and the brick chimney), I've up the asking price by thousands dollars. The price increase also represents new materials I have purchased to finish connecting the NEW bathroom sink and finish the front of the house to include a new door, windows and exterior sheeting. As the updated listing says, the house is in full renovation and if you are considering "investing" you'll have to expect to spend thousands more to finish the house. Most of that expense will be in the form of labor. If you are thinking you can invest a few thousand dollars and then rent it out, this property is not for you. My home ultimately is for someone like me, who likes hard work and is capable of doing nearly all the work myself (when healthy). There is much more I'd like to tell you, but Zillow has limited the number of characters they'll allot me.
