    Country Comfort- This home is ideal for folks who appreciate homes which remind of an earlier time. Built in 1947, and typical of houses built them, it features heart-pine wood floors, a native stone wood-burning fireplace, an original linoleum kitchen floor, blue and white tile on the kitchen countertops, and lots of big windows which allowed breezes to flow before the days of air-conditioning. There's also native stonework on the front of the home as well as in spaced columns along the road. Between the living room and the kitchen is a formal dining room with double doors leading out to a covered patio. The front bedroom has access to a side addition best thought of as a bonus room, useful as a sunroom or perhaps a home office with its own entry door from a wood deck porch. The roof shingles were replaced in 2022. In the back yard is a shed with a small dog run. The lot is 1.03 acres and has a 5-stall open shed useful for storage or parking. In 2012 the septic system was replaced. The home is located 12 miles north of the intersection of US 441 and NW 34 ST at the Highway Patrol station and is 0.3 miles east of SR 121, and is about halfway between Lacrosse and Worthington Springs. Drive time to north Gainesville is 15-20 minutes. The road in front is not heavily traveled. This home offers enjoyment of peaceful country living with no close neighbors, but with convenient access to the amenities of the city when wanted or needed.
