Parking in YNHH's Air Rights main parking garage is a massive daily undertaking. The garage spans 3 blocks and is over 8 stories tall, meaning that you may walk several blocks across the parking garage, then across a tunnel to the hospital, and then across the entire hospital to reach your unit. YNHH is actually composed of four hospitals adjoined to each other, two inpatient hospitals services (east and south pavillion), Smilow Cancer Hospital (north), and Yale New Haven Children's Hospital (west) so it can be quite a walk to even reach the other side of the hospital after getting to it from the parking lot. By walking to work you could easily save an hour each day by avoiding the parking structure and commute, 15-20 minutes each way for just getting to and out of the parking lot alone. Most nurses park in the Sherman parking lot 1 mile from the hospital and have to take a shuttle to get to the hospital, adding additional time to the commute. Yearlong leases only. No smoking.
