    This cottage is designed in a farmhouse style: you will see soft pine floors throughout, old-fashioned wainscot, high 9-foot ceilings, V-Rustic wood on the walls, farmhouse bathroom cabinets, a kitchen sink and bath faucet set in the style of a water pumps, and an over-100-year-old authentic farmhouse front door. We have combined the rustic with the contemporary with all the modern conveniences you expect from luxury living: a kitchen with granite counters and very large 3.5 foot by 7 foot granite island that seats 7 easily and 8 comfortably and that has lots of storage, an all-Bosch appliance kitchen, 26-cubit Refrigerator/Freezer, gas stove and oven, automatic soft-close kitchen cabinetry, a stainless steel stink, and the largest non-commercial sink disposal available. The laundry room is separate so it is completely silent and takes up no valuable space. The bedroom is 9.5 feet by 10 feet, and is accompanied by a ceiling fan, two large casement windows with wooden blinds, soft pine floors, and a small storage closet. The focal point of the bedroom is the its entrance door - a swinging barn-door. The bedroom has an ensuite wardrobe room which leads into the bathroom. This very unique room is known as a wardrobe room and not just a walk-in closet because this it has its own central heating vent. It's a room, not a closet, but it is set up as a clothes closet. Many tenants have changed its use to a closet/office, closet/gaming room, etc. The wardrobe room is 10 feet by 8 feet, and is outfitted with modular wire shelving, drawers, and a shoe cabinet. Next, you'll find what many consider the jewel of the cottage: a huge 13-foot by 8-foot bathroom, complete with deep-soak shower/tub with granite tub deck, brushed nickel appliances, two windows, glass block tub wall, two farmhouse cabinets, old-fashioned high-top toilet, old-fashioned squared pedestal sink, old-fashioned medicine cabinet, and humidistat fan. The pictures don't show it, but the bath is a shower and bath. But, the best part of the bathroom (I think) is that the bath has a door to the side garden, which you can swing open to enjoy Spring, Summer, and Autumn - especially while soaking in the tub. In addition, there is a 6-foot entry closet with ample storage. There is also a separate pantry closet. This farmhouse cottage is nestled on one side by lawn and fragrant garden, and on another side by its own 21 feet by 21 feet private yard with cement and brick patio. The garden includes Maples, Blue-Potato Vine, and other plants - all under the shelter of a giant walnut tree. There is land and water for someone who loves gardening. The main house is occupied by a very nice family, very mature, low key, and just extremely kind. The location of the farmhouse is ideal: centrally located in Redwood City between San Francisco and San Jose, and the East Bay and Half Moon Bay. Because the beautiful pine floors are considered a somewhat soft wood, the cottage is a no-shoes home. Sorry, no smoking/drugs, and no pets this is non-negotiable. Because of the high-end materials used to prepare this cottage, a $3,200 deposit is necessary to secure the assets. But, I'm sure you will keep the place in fantastic condition. First and last month's rent is appreciated. Household expenses include a visit from the house cleaner twice a month; a gardener who comes each week to keep the yard and garden well-manicured, gas, electricity, water, garbage, and sewer. Internet and cable can be share with the main house, but past tenants have reported weak signals. The current tenants ordered separate service. The Farmhouse Cottage has a separate meter for gas and electric. The rest of the household expenses are shared by all of the tenants living on the property, which makes some of the them very inexpensive. I once tried including utilities in the rent, but the tenants ran up huge bills - apparently not feeling very responsible financially, or environmentally conscious. A little about the area in Redwood City where the Farmhouse Cottage is located: 5 minutes from 101, 8 minutes from 280, walking distance to restaurants, fast food, grocery store, bus, health club (with indoor pool), and several other businesses; bike to train in 20 minutes. The Farmhouse cottage is near incredible biking and hiking, and is 25 minutes from San Francisco and 35 minutes from San Jose, when there is no traffic. The furniture shown on the attached photos of the cottage is not included. I just thought you'd like to see how furniture can fit into the space. The white cloth bistro chairs surrounding the granite island are included. The Farmhouse Cottage is available September 1, but may be available sooner if the current tenant moves earlier.
