Greetings, Magical Soul. If you love the magic of the forest, privacy with no neighbor behind you or in front (house is elevated) but also desire the proximity to our beautiful city - this may be the sanctuary you are seeking. Welcome to what my community calls the TreeHouse Spirit Haven. People are always in awe the first time they come here, because it feels so far out of town though it is not. What makes this home so special, is that it feels like you're in the middle of the spacious forest, on a dead end street, with the sound of hawks, owls, and a vast ecosystem, even though the drive to downtown is 15 - 30 minutes (depending on traffic). The sizeable property backs up to a huge, untouched, continuous greenbelt, that goes all the way to Camp Long trail system, full of moss, ferns, massive old trees and hidden natural sanctuaries. Basically, it feels like having a 10 acre forest property, smack in the middle of the Seattle suburbs, it's a gem. For those who use public transport, the 120 bus comes every 20 minutes from morning to late night, about 200 yards down the road where 24th meets Del Ridge. I added some photos above, these are all taken on the property itself, though the greenbelt reaches far beyond what you can see in these pictures. I was VERY picky when I bought the home years ago, looking for a home that did not waste space in awkward configurations, was close to Seattle, had nature and good energy. This place is incredible for gatherings, and so many spaces for every day life in a single family, or for two families, or a community. I also looked into it, and this property meets all of the Seattle criteria to put another detached additional dwelling unit (DADU) in the back yard, behind the massive grandmama maple tree. The home has two kitchens and two large living rooms (have some photos of the downstairs here, will add more soon of massive high-ceiling 2 car garage, and downstairs living room, bathroom). The back yard has a massive 1000+ sf deck, and a pad poured for a hot tub, separate circuit for hot tub or sauna (no hot tub, or sauna - but there really should be IMO). There are two fireplaces in the house, and they get well loved. One upstairs in the living room embedded in the wall, and a free standing franklin stove downstairs. The stove downstairs can make the whole house suuuper cozy super fast. It is a bright place with 14 skylights in the top floor and all new windows (the whole upper floor underwent a $160k remodeled in 2016). and the space is full of magical energy, having contained so much warmth and community since I purchased the home about 8 years ago. I still live here at the home with a few housemates/Jedis, and am happy to show the space around to the right buyer who is serious. Area for improvment: the 2016 remodel didn't cover most of the downstairs, which has that 80s vibe, vs the remodeled spaces. So, I'm currently in the process of replacing carpet, some cosmetic touch ups downstairs - a fun thing to do during this mandatory remote-work time :). Feel free to add me on FB and please send a message - I'm Darrick Morrison, or IG @darrickosmonaut, and own this home. Or perhaps there's a messaging feature within Zillow. I will upload downstairs photos in the next week or so. Reach out with any questions you may have, or interest.<3
