The Location The property is located on the NW corner of Island Lake in Itasca County. There’s very little traffic on the road other than nearby residents, which amount to two other homes on the dead-end cul-de-sac. The few neighbors are very friendly and are a mix of seasonal and full-time residents. The nearest town is Northome, MN (3-1/2 miles). In addition to other businesses and residencies, Northome includes restaurants, a grocery store, a gas station, a hardware store, and a post office. The town of Bemidji is about 46 miles to the SW along US-71, and Grand Rapids is about 60 miles to the SE, down MN-46 and US-2. A little over a mile outside of Northome is the Northome airport. This is a small rural public airport with 2 grass runways. There are also several nearby trails for ATVs and snowmobiles.
