Laurel Canyon Mid-Century originally built in 1960 by Swedish architect, Peter U. Koller for his family. Other examples of his work can be found in Arts and Architecture August 1950 issue. With its flat roof, rectangular structure, open living areas, and open design main-floor, it is a classic example of what Modernist architects were rightly renowned for: light-filled interiors, the use of industrial or readily available materials (in this case, brick blocks and wood siding), and the creation of small, elegant spaces that were joyously livable. The patio is a circular sculpture with built-in seating, shelves and dining. Makes it easy to stay socially distant and still enjoy each other's company. Bathroom and kitchen have been remodeled and feature tiles from Heath Ceramics, an Italian vanity with cabinet, and Groehe fixtures. Tucked away in the hills of Laurel Canyon on a street filled with architectural gems, near entrance to Runyon Canyon hiking trails and yet minutes to Hollywood.
