The beach is a 10-15 minute kayak ride away (bring your own or rent from one of the outfitters on the island), or you can simply enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the dock with the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves in the background. You will have access to the entire house during your stay. The house includes one bedroom and one bathroom with a separate clawfoot tub and glass rain shower. Upstairs is a loft with a desk, seating area, and convertible couch that can sleep two overnight guests. The full kitchen is equipped with everything you need for both indoor and outdoor dining. The property, which is just over an acre, includes a deck in the backyard, a hammock, and a seating area overlooking the marsh and the ocean. You will have access to the garage, which includes access to the stone-floored outdoor shower (hot and cold water). The driveway includes plenty of space for a boat if you want to bring yours to launch from one of the public boat ramps nearby. The town of Edisto Beach is just a 7-minute drive away. Here you will find the island's only grocery store, restaurants, cafes, shopping, and public beach access with free parking. Also nearby are Botany Bay, and King's Farm Market, which are both lowcountry staples. The bikes in the garage are available for use. During your stay, you can bike down the lightly traveled dirt road to a local farmer's market and restaurant. Along with kayaking to the beach, you can also kayak the more than two miles of waterway which ultimately spills into the ocean. It's not unusual to seek dolphins in the creek, and you might see stingrays, bald eagles, and a wide variety of other animals from the dock.
