Three story Victorian home right across the street from Columbia park shared with three musicians/artists. The rooms: Two large connected rooms on the first floor of the house that include a large walk-in closet with built in shelving and a large full private bath. This is the only bedroom on the first floor, so it's kinda like having your own apartment. Other than the shared kitchen, you'll have total privacy if you want it. The rooms are currently painted bedroom is fuchsia with black floral wallpaper and the attached room is gray with black trim. Feel free to repaint what color you'd like if you want it changed. Room measurements: Room one (auxiliary room) , which measures 14ft x 10ft 6in, is adjacent to the main living room and is separated by original 1889 working pocket doors. This would be like your private living room in the house. Through this room is the 11ft 2in x 14ft 5in bedroom (bedroom 3). The room in front of it gives you some buffer space from any common area. On the back end of the bedroom is a 5ft 9in x 5ft 9in walk-in closet and 9ft 4in x 5ft 6in private bathroom with bathtub shower combo. The rest of the house includes designer wall colors; space to decorate and make your own; newly updated kitchen with silestone quartz countertops; deep stainless steel sink and dishwasher; large basement with washer and dryer and music room that can be shared; and huge overgrown backyard with tons of possibility if you're into gardening. Columbia park is right across the street and is almost like a a giant shared yard. Everything is coming back to life right now and it's gorgeous. Good energy is a must. You'll be sharing the rest of the house with three mellow, laid back guys 2 dogs and a cat. We don't have many real house rules, chores, schedule, etc. Just be honest and respectful. We don't really care what you do here so long as we all respect each other's lives and respect the integrity of the house itself. For the most part, we're all just working on our own projects and share the common areas for life functions. Probably the only real disturbance here is the noise from the music room. It can be loud but it isn't a band house, so there aren't really sustained periods of overwhelming noise or people coming and going like you'd have from a rehearsal. Other than that, it's pretty quiet around here. Definitely not a party house. We're receptive to whatever needs are reasonable so just be communicative about things like house cleanliness, organization, noise schedule, etc. dale - As far as interests, I'm sort of in that art/biology niche. I love to get out of the city. Me and my two dogs spend as much time out hiking and camping as we can. I have a solo music project (hard to describe, but it's in the punk/math/experimental space) so I spend some time in the music room messing around with that and with other projects at the house. I might not look it so much anymore but I come from a punk background and carry those ideals with me in life. I believe in mutual respect, self expression, and balance. I try hard to live by those principles. I also have a partner who co-owns the house with me, but lives separately. She will be coming over and staying the night occasionally. Matt and Ruben are the other two guys living here. They're both very laid-back, polite, and thoughtful. Really easy energy to be around. Both are musicians as well. Matt is currently in a band here in Portland and spends part of the year touring internationally. He has a band rehearsal space separate from the house. He likes backpacking, movies, and travel and works as a field technician. Ruben has a solo music project and is currently recording for that. Ruben's other interests are art, philosophy, literature, and film. I have two great dogs, Igor and Lestat, who are basically glued to me - and a very independent indoor/outdoor cat. With dogs always comes some amount of fur and dirt in the house it's just kind of unavoidable. I'm open to the possibility of another dog but it would have to be the right fit, for sure. Important to know **This is a "chemical free" home - all cleaning in the house is done using baking soda, white vinegar, and Dr. Bronners soap** It's the one thing I have to be uptight about. I used to work with a multitude of different artistic mediums (screen printing, darkrooms, spray painting, etc.) and my body started to have a severe neurological reaction to solvents and harsh chemicals. It has become something that I have to take very seriously so I'll need to require anyone living here to be respectful of that. I'm enthusiastic about living with other artists but I know that this factor can be an impediment to a lot of processes. Utilities aren't included in rent, and they'll run around $125/month each - includes high speed wifi. Our lease is month-to-month but we would prefer to find someone who wants to be in the home for a while. The lease agreements are pretty standard for Oregon. We do not have a set fee for utilities and split the bills evenly amongst the household members as they come. There is a $200 fee for rent paid after the 4th of the month. There is an addendum about chemical usage in the house, which is in place because of a medical sensitivity to certain agents.
