Weatherby Lake is a city which has a Mayor form of governance. The city is close to Zona Rosa Shopping, churches, water parks, theatres and best of all, close to Kansas City International Airport. The city sponsors concerts in the park, supports a Battalion from Fort Riley. Many active clubs focus on neighborlyness, dinners for 8, helping hands for folks in need , tennis and Women's groups which include gardening A 300 A. lake is the major focus of the community. The lake offers sailing, pontooning, fishing, swimming, ice skating and ice boating. It is a wonderful place to raise a family or hve grandchildren come to enjoy a midwestern summer. In fact, my own grandchildren love to come, take sailing lessons, picnic, swim and go boating. Recently, my Seattle grandson came, took sailing lessons and at the awards picnic said to his new freinds" see you next year" !
