    Hey housing hunters! I am looking for a new roommate to share my 2 bedroom cottage with in North Oakland! My lovely roommate of 2.5 years, whom I am super sad to see go, is moving out to take the next steps with her partner! COSTS: - $1150 monthly rent - $1175 refundable security deposit - Utilities: Water and trash paid by landlord, PG&E and internet (paid by tenants) run about $60-$110/month per person. LEASE TERMS: - Lease is 12 months, then converts to month-to-month (no short lease options, sorry) - Credit score minimum 680 - Monthly gross household income 2.5x rent - Max occupancy 1 person for this room - No eviction record - No smoking in the unit - Deposit and 1st-month rent (and any partial month rent) due at lease signing via Zelle - Application fee of $40 (refundable if applicant approved), online application/agreement processing - Move in at any point, the room is available now! YOU: This would work best for a female who is looking to make home a good place to be! Someone of a similar age (30's) who cleans on their own accord, practices openly communicating so that we can have a respectful and comfortable home, likes to share some laughs from time to time, prefers a zen and quiet environment and thinks of home as a place to rest and recharge, free of dramas. Being actively conscious of noise in common spaces during quiet/sleep hours is a must as sound travels easily here. This space would work best for ambiverts/ introverts (like me!) who don't require re-charging their battery with frequently having visitors over for socializing (though visitors are fine!), and someone who has a natural tendency for quiet times of ~10pm-10am. YOUR ROOM: Unfurnished, on the smaller side at 11.5' x 8.2' and fits a full sized bed, small desk and dresser comfortably. There is an additional closet that is yours in the laundry room right next to your room. The room is located at the back of the cottage, off of the kitchen, has a door to the bathroom (Jack and Jill style shared with my bedroom), and has a window that looks out onto the back patio. We have a basement (200 sq ft) and plenty of storage down there for bikes/ larger items/ project materials/ etc. YOUR APARTMENT: An interesting old prohibition distillery converted into 3 cottages and fully remodeled in 2020. Located on a quiet street in the Longfellow neighborhood of North Oakland. Street parking is always available! We have a group chat with the neighbors on our street and look out for one another. We are 0.5 mile to MacArthur BART, 0.2 miles to Route 24, and 0.8 miles to I-580, so this is a prime spot for anyone who commutes via bike, car or BART! Safety wise, it's pretty good for Oakland. The property is fenced in and feels safe with the normal precautions one should take in a city. We have two other cottages on our property with a total of 4 other tenants. Our landlord is a solid human being who cares about the property and fixes things when needed! YOUR ROOMMATE: I'm a 34 y/o female from NY, a chemist taking a break from my field and working in outdoor retail, I'm into all the outdoorsy things, I love live music preferably of the electronic bass prominent variety, I'm always working on some sort of project (working on my car or bike, outdoor gear DIY, sewing etc.) listening to podcasts, and have recently been learning a lot about investing and economics.
