If you like what you see in the photos, you will fall in love with this much adored home seeing it in person. The first level of this home is the kitchen, which was flooded by the Cane River during Hurricane Helene. The physical structure of the home and the 2nd two stories were unaffected, but restoring the kitchen (and the property grounds around the home) into an even better space than pre-storm has been a long, yet satisfying process... The kitchen, taking up the entire first level of this home, has exposed brick walls, a large farm style porcelain sink, solid wood cabinets, a stainless gas range and refrigerator, a brand-new all-in-one washer/dryer unit, and where the primary heating unit for the home is located (also brand new). The kitchen has its own exterior entry door (which is an original "Dutch" door - a double-hung door so lower half can remain closed with upper half open). Just outside the kitchen door (and offering a lovely view from the upper half window of the Dutch door) is the newly leveled, freshly grassed, riverfront grounds of what once was the elegantly beautiful boutique wedding venue, "Sunset Gatherings". FURNISHINGS NOTE: The kitchen is (currently) furnished with a dining table and 4 chairs. I am happy to fully stock this kitchen with all else needed for a fully functional kitchen if needed, depending on the needs of its next resident. The second (main level) of this home houses the living room and the single bathroom. The "main entry" door enters the living room from the opposite side of the home from the kitchen entry. Just outside the heavy original wood entry door of the living room is a covered decked porch, fully shaded by (very) large, engulfing trees and old (quite tall) boxwoods. The Apple House has ample spaces for parking on both sides of the home. The living room has original oak hardwood floors and a beamed ceiling (7' in height). The windows are newer, double hung (wonderful for having the windows slightly opened from the top and bottom at the same time), providing refreshing cross breezes when open. There is a gas log stove in the living room that not only serves as a 2nd heating source, but is also a fixed and pretty addition to the living room space! The track lighting above the sofa offers various shades of light and is dimmable. FURNISHINGS NOTE: The living room is (nearly) fully furnished (sofa, covered chair, cabinet, area rug, etc). A coffee table to sit in front of the sofa, is coming soon. A TV will be added to the furnishings, if needed by this home's next resident. The bathroom was remodeled a few years ago with a fully tiled walk-in shower and floors. The dresser converted to vanity provides plenty of storage for toiletries and bath linens. The 3rd and final level of this home is the bedroom. It is not a loft, but the ceiling is A-framed. The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and a dresser, but it also has a closet and a ton of built-in storage along its walls. Please note the steepness of the stairs between floors in the photos. They are steeper than standard stairs, but not as steep as a ladder. If you are not concerned about the steepness of the stairs for health reasons (including bad knees), you are encouraged to try them before ruling The Apple House out as a resident option for you. Those who have chosen to call The Apple House "home" over the past many years have stayed (on average) 3.5 to 5 years. The property, in its entirety, has nearly 14 acres. The clear & clean Cane River serves as the front perimeter of the property with The Apple House being just a short walk from the river's edge. There are two other homes within the 14 acres occupied by full-time rental residents All three homes offer plenty of space, quiet and privacy between each other. Sunset Ln (the street The Apple House is located on) is about 10 minutes from historic downtown Burnsville, just off State Hwy 197s (Pensacola Rd), 20-25 minutes to Spruce Pine, 35 minutes to downtown Weaverville, 45 minutes to downtown Asheville and an hour from the Asheville Airport. Pets: Neutered males / spayed female pets only. * Maximum of 2 pets, no more than a single dog. Only indoor cats.
