**Architect Morris Adjmi**
Adjmi's timeless aesthetic and narrative approach to each project, has made him one of New York's most sought after architects. Heavily influenced by art and history, Adjmi's work is known for blending seamlessly into the historical fabric of a neighborhood respecting tradition while innovative at the same time.
83 Walker honors the history of the cast-iron neighborhood with a modern interpretation of the classic nineteenth century cast-iron facade that is both respectful and unexpected.
Influenced by artist Rachel Whiteread's concrete cast work. Most notably her concrete mold of an interior of a Victorian house, Adjmi played with the neighborhood's cast-iron history by creating a facade that is essentially an enormous concrete mold for creating a cast-iron structure.
At first glance the facade appears to be traditional and instantly familiar, however, Adjmi's interpretation offers a surprising twist on the classic Tribeca vernacular.
**Neighborhood**
83 Walker is located within the Tribeca East Historic District, an area known for its cast-iron architecture and contemporary vibe. The neighborhood includes a plethora of trendy restaurants, art galleries, parks, and fashionable boutiques. Some of my favorite spots include the Hudson River Park (My favorite place for a sunset walk), Saint Tuesday (Speakeasy) at the Walker Hotel, and the Tribeca farmers market open on Saturday & Wednesday year-round.
