I love how conveniently located it is since it’s only 3 minutes to the hospital and one minute to Wilson Elementary and 2 minutes to the Ottumwa High School. It was fun watching the high school football games scoreboard from the side porch. The covered side porch has a porch swing which is perfect for sitting outside and sipping ice tea. There are three fruit trees: a pear and two different kinds of cherry trees and all three produce an abundance of fruit. There were so many pears that I made pear bread, pear crisp and canned pears. The cherry trees are loaded and many cherry pies have been made in the past from the cherries. There are 7 raised garden beds in the backyard and In the past, I have raised tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green beans and had a strawberry patch and an asparagus patch. The inside of the house has 1315 finished space and approximately 2100 of unfinished space which could be made liveable with a little effort. It’s a beautiful home and could accommodate many more people than the two bedrooms suggest.
