The Sleeping Studio Down Under at Porter Place is a short-term private studio apartment, spacious and simply furnished rental unit in a beautiful & eclectic neighborhood in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Comfy Queen-Sized Bed! Located within a short walk from downtown and the Eau Claire & Chippewa Rivers, as well as many beautiful parks and entertainment. This unit provides the essentials for a travelers home away from home & is our largest, most private space. All utilities are included in rent. The Sleeping Studio Down Under is a clean, cozy, & inviting space and is the only sleeping studio in the basement & lower level of The Porter Place. The bathroom is equipped with a tiled shower. The kitchen is simply furnished with a small table and two stools, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove/oven, full size fridge, dishes and more. The Sleeping Studio is approximately 750 sq feet, and features a queen-sized bed, sitting areas, and lots of room to relax after a long shift at work.The Sleeping Studio was originally designed as a bomb shelter in 1963, which makes it safe & exceptionally quiet. The kitchen and bathroom with a shower are just steps away for your use. The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and other kitchen essentials! The Bathroom is newly remodeled with a tiled shower. The Sleeping Studio is a private lower level basement unit. More Details about The Sleeping Studio Down Under: Extra Tenants: * $250 / month for one extra person in addition to monthly rent rate of $1,250. Cleaning: *We proudly use natural and toxic-free cleaning supplies. *Weekly cleaning of the sleeping room by renters is appreciated and expected. *Management does clean the bathroom and hallways weekly *Weekly house-keeping of the Studio may be arranged for an additional fee. *A one time cleaning fee of $200 at the time of move-out is required and will be deducted from the security deposit. Utilities: *Utilities are included. * No laundry in the unit at this time. We are working on that! Great self-serve or complete laundry services nearby. Extras: *For personal comfort during your stay, the Landlord invites guests to bring their own pillow, bedding and towels. The bed is queen sized and will be made upon arrival. Extras are always available if needed. The space is simple, but nicely furnished. *If you forgot or need an item, please ask before going out to purchase it. Often, we have what is needed on-site. *There is a beautiful community room on the first floor is a shared space which can be used to relax in the evenings or on a weekend as well as a patio in the backyard. The shared spaces are generally very quiet and hardly ever used. Guests are more than welcome to use them. * If space is needed for business purposes, speak to the landlord, as the first floor is a small business center that caters to small business and traveling business people. A small fee applies business use. *Rent and fees listed are based on one person residence/occupancy. *An additional fee of a minimum of $100/month for an additional occupant. Pets: *Due to the mixed-use nature of the overall property, we are sorry that we cannot allow pets. There is a cat in the building but she does NOT have access to the sleeping studio/unit. Sophie the cat lives in the apartment on the 2nd floor. Due to the overall mixed-use nature of the building, the entire property is unique, which adds to its intrigue and charm. Porter Place is located just one block south west of the YMCA. It is also only minutes from hospitals, UWEC, CVTC, local businesses, downtown, walking and biking trails and bridges, the Eau Claire and Chippewa Rivers, parks, bus stops, local farmers market, local food co-op, Pablo Center, library, etc. Walking distance to outstanding restaurants and coffee shops, nightlife and the up and coming arts scene.
