Room details
Rooms available in a 25-room Victorian mansion built in 1884 by former Kalamazoo mayor William E. Hill. Once a ballroom, the top floor of the house now contains six individually-locked bedrooms with three shared bathrooms and one kitchen shared by all the tenants. Located in the prestigious Stuart neighborhood, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the location is a short bike ride to the WMU and K College campuses, and is on the city bus line.
Reserved off-street parking for each tenant, free laundry facilities, free central air, free heat, and all other utilities (except internet) are included in the monthly rent payment. Each tenant signs an individual lease.
Gardening space is available as well as enclosed locked storage for bikes.
Each apartment includes one locked bedroom and is unfurnished. Most rooms have built-in bookshelves and one room has a built-in dresser. Only one car per tenant is allowed to park in the reserved lot. Pets, waterbeds, excessive noise, and subletting are prohibited. Smoking is allowed only outdoors in the picnic area.
