We are a family that goes between beautiful Michigan and sunny California. Currently, we are looking for a couple or a capable individual to look over our Michigan home/property. We have a fun two-acre property in a rural setting that includes a young Great Pyrenees named Roxy who is simply the sweetest, but is also a working dog that protects our property from critters, etc. She is fully outdoors, as she has a job to do, but she enjoys the company and cuddles. Our cat, Link is a fully outdoor kitty that is living his best cat life. He has a warm cathouse that is his bachelor pad, and the outdoors is his entertainment. :-) With this being a long-term property sit through August, please only apply if you are comfortable with this rural setting and all its glory. We have family nearby that are available for any questions or assistance. Our home is beautiful, extremely quiet, and spacious, although it does need some finishing touches. We have animals that will need to receive care: Roxy and Link are very friendly, and they love people. Their routine is simple and involves feeding them each day. This includes ensuring that their water is full/thawed/cleaned, bedding is clean and warm, etc. Roxy enjoys raw chicken with cooked veggies, yogurt, and raw eggs. Link enjoys his wet cat food every evening. In the summer months, Roxy has a plastic kiddy pool we fill daily (her favorite) and clean it every few days. Property care includes: As the weather warms up, we do have a few trees that will need watered throughout the yard. We use garden hoses to reach them. They are newer and struggle when it gets too hot. There is a possibility that mowing will need to be done. We do have lawn mower, etc. If you do lawn mowing, this is a big plus! Our home is neat and tidy, and we expect the same in return keeping the areas clean, dusted, vacuumed, etc. We require someone that is clean and respectful. When needed, we have a family member who's available to facilitate any notable work being done on the property (e.g., plumbing, appliances, underground fence). This would be coordinated beforehand and respectful of your schedule. Currently, we do have chickens, but a family nearby is watching them at her house. If, for some reason, they will no longer be watching them (three happy hens), they will return to our house and would require daily feeding/watering along with gathering eggs. But, for right now, they are enjoying time with grandma. Our sit ending time is flexible, as we do not know our work schedule. Right now, we are planning on the sit being through August, but there is a potential to stay longer. We are very flexible if you need to scoot out for a trip or the like, as the animals are set up to be on their own for a while. We have long-term feeders and waterers always within their reach. We have discounted the rent in exchange for the above responsibilities. Fully furnished and being a larger home, the regular rent is $4,000/mo. Normal cleaning and upkeep is required. We are a clean family and keeping our home orderly and tidy is a requirement. The home is fully furnished. Utilites will be discounted as well. The property sits on 2 acres of land and is in a rural setting. We are close to Shipsewana, IN being a popular tourist destination in our area.
