Room details
Fully furnished basement with a private bed and bathroom; short-term lease available (1 to 5 months).
You will have the entire basement to yourself, with the exception of occasional access needed to get to storage, hvac, etc. We do not use the basement as a common space to hang out and can work out a schedule if you'd like.
This is a suburban neighborhood so it will be easier to have a car, but there is a bus stop 8 minutes from the home if you want to take public transportation. There is also a Walmart neighborhood, Starbucks, and a couple of fast food restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

- We clean frequently and hope that you also like to maintain a clean space.
About the lease:
- Initial lease term up to 3 months (shorter term is okay)
- Lease renewal possible based on compatibility
- Monthly rent of $1,350 includes water
- Electric: Winter months will usually be under $80 to $100. You will responsible for 1/3 of the electricity whether I travel or not. We keep the windows open when the weather is nice, so the electricity is typically low for a home of this size.
- Security deposit: one month rent
Shared space:
- Current residents: A retiree over 50 (female). I don't live in the home but will visit frequently, often over the weekend. The resident stays on the main floor of the home, with the apartment located in the basement, with windows and plenty of light on sunny days.
- This home is a recent construction, completed in 2022
- We kindly request a no-shoes policy indoors
- Zero tolerance for smoking indoors (including vaping) due to residents having asthma, you're welcome to smoke outside however.
Visitors:
- While we are unable to accommodate frequent guests due to our shared entrance, occasional visitors are welcome.
We will split the monthly electricity 3 ways (water will be included). Average comes out to $35 (your portion) during the summer months, and up to $75 during winter months. If there is more electricity used, the utility bill may be higher than $75, but that has been the average in the last 3 years during the coldest winter months.
