Escape from disasters. Come to this 10.2 acre land with magnificent view in Catskills mountains where the summer is cool and the winter has fun filled snow sports to enjoy. Private road in a Property Owner's Association community, with Mayhem Pond for members only. Half of the land lies the lawn, NYC DEP approved rain garden, and my own cultivated vegetable garden. The other half of the land is a deep forest. Or I call it "my very own Central Park" where I have endless renewable wood to burn. Enjoy a family BBQ at the fire pit. Fuel the living room fireplace with self produced wood logs. The property line is more than 1000 feet long (three city blocks!). At the end of the woods, there is a small creek running into Mayham Pond, which eventually goes into New York City drinking water system. That's why NYC DEP is so strict on anything I plan to do. It took DEP six months to approve my engineer's plan. DEP required me to construct a commercial sized rain garden to filter the rain in order to protect the NYC drinking water source. It turned out to be very beautiful! The house started construction in 2019 and finished in 2020. It is a three bedroom manufactured modular home craned on top of a Superior Walls precast concrete basement, in which there is one additional bathroom. I like the open space in the basement, which can be used as a media room, game room, dining and family room. You can easily set up walls to partition the basement into an in-law bedroom/living room suite. Sorry, no marbles in this rural house. Part of the basement is a spacious two-car garage with 10' doors. My wife is tired of parking in confined city garages. That's why I built this super wide garage for her easy in and out. Catskills well water is the best in quality anywhere in North America. Albany Saint Peter's Hospital Environmental Lab water test result affirms that. My well water tastes so great that you will never want to drink any bottled water anymore. And the water pressure is strong at 60psi. I have a video showing that I wash my car with this precious pure water. The mountain fresh air, plus the warm sunshine (vitalmin D), plus a bit of calcium in the drinking water, plus 10 acres of exercise ground, you will live a very healthy life in this rural area, far away from virus and other metropolitan pollutants. Forget about New Jersey crowded neighborhoods. You literally have 40 acres of view since your neighbors north, east, and west to you are all vacant land. Five hundred feet from the main house, there is a shed as my workshop or studio or farming tool storage, completely off-grid, only consume rain water and solar power. I can't even name the species that are my co-habitats. Can you name them for me? See photos. Oh, did I mention the evening sky? Decades living in the City, I never knew what "milky way" looked like. Until now. In a science fair when I was in first grade, a teacher asked me how many stars there are in the sky. I couldn't give her a clear answer but she rewarded me with a pencil sharpener anyway to keep me interested in cosmo physics. Now on my own land, I raise my head towards the deep evening sky, I have a poetic answer.
