Our recently renovated, bright and cozy, open floor plan home in the beautiful town of Guilford is the perfect place for a couple, small family or single renter to find community and peace. Located on a dead-end street in a quiet beachside neighborhood, this house is walking distance to the train station, restaurants and shopping. Central A/C and gas heat keep this private home efficiently comfortable year-round. Fully furnished with an eye to style and function, the house is move-in ready. Our beautiful screened porch offers views of the marsh, Long Island Sound and the East River. Two bedrooms, each containing a comfortable double bed, and a loft area with two single beds and a workspace, offer plenty of ways to make this home work for you and your family. The spacious full bath has a new tub/shower with tile surround and great water pressure. The kitchen is fully stocked if you like to cook and there are restaurants within easy walking distance if you don't. The kitchen has all the amenities: stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, high speed blender, coffee maker and full-sized refrigerator. A full-sized washer and dryer are located in the dry, unfinished basement, and there is additional enclosed outdoor storage under the porch. Two cars can easily park in our private gravel driveway.
Our home is an easy walk to the beach, marina and train station, with multiple commuter trains per day to New Haven or New London and stops in between. Transfers available to New York, Boston and Providence. The beautiful Guilford town green, public library, restaurants and stores are just over a mile away. Guilford has an excellent public school system. The bus stop is nearby and the local elementary school is a 5 minute drive. The Guilford Racquet and Swim Club, with monthly memberships and an indoor pool, is a short drive away. Nature lovers will appreciate the beautiful walking trails through preserved New England woods (Westwoods natural area) and towns (NE Trail trailhead down the street). Everyone enjoys the osprey nests in the nearby marshes. History lovers can walk to the Henry Whitfield House and Museum, the oldest stone house in New England (c. 1639) and visit two other colonial era house museums.
