Harbour Beach enjoys views to Frederiksted town and the cruise ship pier, and of course the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. All of the rooms in this 1200 square foot one bedroom unit are spacious and the gallery is wide open to the sea. Designed for outdoor enjoyment, the kitchen has a pass-through to the gallery. Breezes flow naturally thru this unit and it is typically cool and pleasant all the time. For those few nights when it is not, there is a split AC unit in the bedroom. The living room furniture and some bedroom furnishings are included in the asking price. Harbour Beach is a gated community with secure parking. A private laundry/storage room of 6 X 10 also comes with the unit. This small complex (18 condos) has an on-site property manager, pool, gazebo, and back-up generator. Fees are reasonable at $480 a month, and the community is self-insured. (which means you’ll need windstorm/flood insurance if you finance your purchase). Vacation and long-term rentals are allowed. Neighborhood Description West End The west end of the island is home to Sandy Point, which is a lovely beach and turtle nesting ground. Every year, the enormous leatherback turtles come back to lay their eggs, which is a sight to behold! The beaches are really nice - white powdery sand and calm turquoise waters. This part of the island is not so hilly, and consists of a number of densely populated neighborhoods.. The west end includes the town of Frederiksted and estates of Hannah’s Rest, Campo Rico, Carlton, Two Williams, Wheel of Fortune and Hesselberg. Good Hope School, on the south shore of the West End Quarter, is a very nice and well respected private school. West end is a very popular spot on Sundays, and home to some great beach bars. Coconut’s has a blues jam on Sunday and Tommy cooks up some of the best steaks, brisket and ribs this side of the Rio Grande (he's a Texan). There's usually a band at Rhythms and a beach volleyball game going on. Sunset Grill is also a popular hang out. Friday and Wednesday nights are "don't miss" nights at the Blue Moon restaurant. Some of the best jazz you'll ever hear will be played, along with Alan's (and Tenny') great New Orleans’ style cooking. And if you're in the mood for a pizza, Lost Dog and Napoleons can take care of that. Sunday is Funday, and West is Best!
