We are looking for a wonderful third housemate to live with us in our beach apartment on the sand in Playa del Rey. Please read through the ad and if you think you fit the bill, respond per request at the bottom. Thanks, and happy hunting! The Beach Pad: - The apartment is on the the beach in Playa del Rey and is on the second floor of a two story duplex. - The bedroom is about 10 x 10 feet, and has one good sized closet a south facing window. It's big enough for a queen sized bed, dresser, bookshelf and desk. Two walls are gray, one is purple, the other is white. You can paint over if you like. - One bathroom is shared between all housemates. - The rest of the apartment is furnished, but we are open to using your things if we all agree. - Hardwood floors in the common areas, and carpeting in all of the bedrooms. The unit includes: - Clothes washer and dryer are in the unit - Off-street parking - The kitchen and bathroom were remodeled in late 2020. - There's a deck that faces the beach, and another that faces the street. About Us: - The current residents: 1. I'm Evan, 29, aspiring actor from the Boston area. I work varied schedule. 2. I'm David. I'm physically active, gym and biking in the mornings. I'm a writer and currently work from home (my room) and parttime outside the home. I am totally, 100% drug-free. We get along because we are very considerate of each other. We need the third to be the same. Our Ideal Candidate: - We are looking for a non-smoking, drug free, not a big drinker/partier. - Be an amazing person to live with. You will need to provide two references who can vouch for you. - Lead an active lifestyle, have a positive attitude, and some similar interests. We don't want someone who will always be parked on the couch or have other people hanging around every day. (But, I, the writer, spend hours locked in my bedroom writing quietly. Although, when I do come out, I'm friendly and personable.) - Be financially secure with a steady income and the ability to pay bills on time, every time. Proof of income. - You are neat/tidy, clean up after yourself, and help with weekly household cleaning. - You are respectful, considerate, and quiet. - Be able to adjust easily to a new living situation...living at the beach has it's own set of challenges, but many more benefits. - Be LGBTQ+ friendly - We want you to feel comfortable with us, and us with you. - We like having people over (if the circumstances allow), but not a continuous revolving door for overnight guests. Please don't invite first-time hookups to the house. We respect one another's space and privacy. The Business End: Rent is $1500 per month plus utilities (Electric, gas, LADWP, and internet, which usually run about $75-170 per month, each). First month rent is due upon move in. Full security deposit is due upon agreement. Roommate agreement is month to month with a minimum 30 day notice for move-out.
