This is a basement apartment with its own entrance located in Kenton. It is not a full ADU since it shares utilities with the rest of the house (it's all under one address).
Kenton is a wonderful community in North Portland with beautiful parks, cafes, and restaurants within a 5 to 10-minute walk.
The apartment has:
- its own laundry/dryer
- air conditioning/gas heating (HVAC-system is shared but zonal, so you have your own thermostat for the apartment.)
- kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, convection oven and hot plate for cooking (no permanent oven!)
- shared backyard
- storage shed outside for your private use
The upstairs unit is occupied by the homeowner and another tenant. We value respectful and friendly neighborly relationships, and we've enjoyed shared meals, game nights, and the occasional creative gathering in the past. While no community participation is expected, we welcome neighbors who are considerate and communicative.
There is a large, shared garage/shop space that can be added to the lease for $100/month. It's great for making, art, movement, or creative projects. This is completely optional no pressure to use the space unless it interests you.
The apartment becomes available October 15th but since that's just around the corner I'm open to move-in dates up to November 1st.
For safety reasons, I always do a video tour with people who are interested first before sharing the address and inviting you for an in-person tour.
No smoking on the property.
No dogs. Cats ok.
Utilities are $210/month flat fee (including water, electricity, gas, garbage/recycling and shared internet) and are calculated at the end of the year and any reconciliation is done (eg. reimbursements if applicable).
12-month lease and then month to month afterwards.
