Interviews happening now until the room is filled :) THE ROOM: - Sun filled west upstairs bedroom 14' x 13.5' 189sqft. - Space enough for a queen size bed, loveseat, large TV, desk/chair, dresser, bookcase/storage. THE PEOPLE: Two creative mellow adults looking for a housemate to join our comfortable, friendly home. Monica = Food enthusiast, fruit nerd, and the homeowner - likes to cook, dance, and garden. Manny = student, childcare provider, DJ by night - likes music and coffee. Lives self-sufficiently in an RV (that he renovated beautifully himself) on the property and comes into the house to grab mail, say hi, and do the occasional load of laundry. THE HOUSE: - The Cully Cottage = bright and open 1800+sqft two story house with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. - Central AC, a big yard, lots of trees to gaze at, full basement, covered patio, and large storage shed. - Located near NE 60th and Alberta. - It's quiet and friendly on our block, and in the house. - Off street parking spot for your car. - Attic/basement/shed storage space available. THE NORM: A few things to know about life at the Cully Cottage... 1. Food is HUGE, and the kitchen here is busy. We cook quite a bit at home, so keeping the kitchen clean and functional day to day for everyone is a priority. 2. TV is NOT HUGE. There is no TV in the shared living space (nor will there be one). You are, of course, invited to enjoy whatever media entertainment you want in your private space. If you like it loud, we ask that you use headphones when enjoying movies or music, and we'll do the same. That being said, rock out if you're home alone, and a shared movie night is fun as well! 3. Safety is a must. We live in an ever-changing city, and keeping our home safe and secure is important for our mental/emotional/physical health. Inside the house - this means NOT leaving the burners on or unattended, and double checking that all the doors and windows on the first floor are locked every time you leave the house. Outside the house, this means knowing most of the surrounding neighbors and checking in regularly. 4. Good communication is a must. Monica and Manny share honest, direct communication with each other. We are proactive, friendly, and check in often/as needed. We will look for, and expect, the same kind of honest and direct communication from our new housemate. This means being able to talk about and work through normal shared household stuff like chores, noise, money, visitors, etc without too much awkward squirming. HOORAY!
