I have a beautiful old craftsman house in Santa Monica, 3 BD 2 BA, 1 mile from the beach, and I'm looking for a 3rd roommate to join myself and my current roommate. (3 people in total.) The available room is large, about 14x13, is UNFURNISHED, and has 3 windows and a high ceiling. Private gated backyard/deck area, and also a gated front patio area with a firepit. House is in an ideal location, only 1 block to the grocery store and also only 1 block to a variety of coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants. Very walkable, safe location, north of Wilshire. We do have 2 cats, so we are looking for a cat-friendly person. We may be able to accept 1 additional cat, depending on the specifics.
The room comes with its very own private bathroom. Or you can share the larger bathroom with me.
We are both professionals who work in healthcare. Looking for someone who is employed or in school full time outside the home (No WFH or remote workers, please.) The vibe of the house is very cozy, friendly, easy-going. Not a party house though we do have friends over from time to time (dinner parties, holiday parties) and you would be encouraged to do the same. Please email or call me if you are interested. This is a special house that I have loved living in ever since August of 2020, when I first leased it, at the start of the pandemic. I've had a handful of different roommates over the years, almost all of whom have worked out great. Several still come by to say hello, and show up when we have people over. The roommate who just moved out was here for 4 years because she loved it so much. Hoping to find someone new who will appreciate the house and the neighborhood as much as we have over the years. :)
Age range of house tends to be late 20's - mid 50's. Either/any gender is fine. Currently it is 2 females. I'm not in a rush and happy to wait for the right person.
Other details - Utilities are extra. About 90-150 per month, per person.
Housecleaners are extra - about $50 per month on average.
$2000 security deposit
Driveway parking spot may become available in the near future, at a cost of $130 per month. In the meantime, permitted street parking available via purchasing an annual pass from the city of Santa Monica, which is about $25 per year.
No smoking.
3 month sublease to start, followed by month to month.
The house is furnished, aside from the available room.
There is space in the attic if you have a few things to store.
