While you may feel like you are the end of the earth, Newagen is just a short drive across the swinging bridge to all the restaurants, boating excursions, boutique shopping and ice cream parlors that the region as to offer. Closer to home enjoy your morning coffee on a stroll down to Town Landing pier to view the Cuckolds Light Station and Cape Island. Make reservations for Newagen Inn's weekly lobster bake, spend a quiet afternoon at the Southport Library, or book a tour of the Newagan Alpaca Farm. Just a short drive up the other side of the island is the Southport General Store where you can grab a picnic lunch and head to Hendricks Head Beach and view another one of Maine's famed lighthouses.
