Zillow Digs is a visual smorgasbord that inspires consumers to create their dream home with design and décor ideas for every taste. It’s also a way for you as an agent to display listings and elevate your brand by gathering, collating and sharing real estate images with potential leads and clients. Not only do your followers get an excuse to look at real estate eye candy, they can also share what they want for their home in terms of form and function.
Here are 6 fresh ideas for using Zillow Digs to engage your clients.
Like Pinterest, you should logically curate your Digs images so that visitors to your boards can choose where to start exploring. For example, you can collate your boards by architecture style, space, color or furnishings, or you can organize them by city, neighborhood or even subdivision. Any category you can imagine can be a board of your own collection.
After you add a listing to your Zillow profile page, add its images to your Digs boards. If you want to show off a home’s stunning deck views, updated kitchen or spacious daylight basement, put photos of it on the Digs board you created for that particular amenity. Then you can share the board with visitors — and especially with clients who told you they wanted that feature in their next home.
Did you happen to be visiting your sister when she unloaded her new patio furniture? Do you have a friend with innovative storage solutions for every room in her house? Did your neighbor just create an amazing mosaic in his newly redone bathroom? Snap some great photos and share them on your Digs board.
Zillow Digs allows others to follow your boards, so you can increase your audience of like-minded consumers. Adding comments to images when you put them on your board — such as noting what you like about them or asking for opinions — can encourage others to respond and get a conversation going. This is a great way to market your services and engage leads and clients.
Your Digs page links to the boards you’re following as well. Users who like your images can click the “Following” link on your page to see who inspires you. You can also take a peek at the boards of your followers, and send them images that might fit in with their style. And when you receive a comment or question about one of your photos, be sure to follow up with the sender.
Once you create your boards, add a Digs badge to the other social media links on your website to remind visitors where else they can engage with you.
If you know that a buyer — or a seller who asks you about upgrades — is interested in a certain look for their next home, you can search Digs for inspiration and then share with them what you find. Product tags help consumers source the products featured in the home images you’ve shared, so they’ll know where to buy that paint color, flooring or countertop and can figure the costs into their budget. Sharing photos shows clients that you’re actively thinking about their needs and is an easy way to stay in touch with them.
You can also make new connections through “Dueling Digs” on the Zillow Digs App for iPhone and iPad. The daily “duels” show images within a certain category; users swipe to eliminate the ones they like least until they reach a final favorite. After the game is over, players can view all the photos and source data — including a link to the home on Zillow — and see how their choice stacks up to others’. Dueling Digs is a fun way to find new people to follow and see what kinds of spaces they like, and also to find out what’s trending in home design.
When you click to “dig” an image, Digs prompts you to comment on why you like it before you add it to your board. It’s easy to then share your boards with clients and followers: When you create a Digs board, it automatically shows up in the lower-right corner of your Zillow profile page; you can share the link to your Digs board on your website, blog or newsletter — anywhere you post your social media handles.
When buyers share an image with you, use it as a guide to help narrow down what they want in a home.
Today’s consumer is savvy to the power of digital platforms; you already know that most people begin their real estate searches online — why not help them further by using Zillow Digs to collaborate on their home and interior design inspiration? With its tens of thousands of images, Zillow Digs is a fun and inspiring way for your clients to visualize their dream spaces and a powerful tool you can use to increase your brand through rich visual content.
