Like many real estate agents, Chris Morrison joined Zillow to help boost his lead generation and raise awareness of his brand.
Morrison was intrigued with the site, which was only three years old at the time, and started with a free profile. He saw some leads come in through Zillow, but not as many as Morrison would have liked. He realized he needed to be more active on the site, so he started contributing to the Zillow community and the leads began to flow in.
Today, Morrison doesn’t spend a dime to advertise on Zillow and Trulia. While he acknowledges that advertising on those sites works for some agents, the bulk of Morrison’s advertising spend goes to direct mail, geographic farming and other efforts. He supplements those marketing strategies with a comprehensive and engaging Zillow profile that he updates weekly with reviews and past sales.
