Sure, you may get a majority of clients through Zillow, word of mouth, and your online presence — but every once in a while, you may find a client in an unexpected way.

This piqued our interest, so we turned to the Premier Agent community and asked them to share the oddest places and situations they’ve encountered a business opportunity.

Chatting with the doctor just before going under the knife. The surgeon bought a home just four weeks later.

Hopefully you're fortunate enough to not find yourself conversing with a surgeon on a regular basis, but this agent's story just goes to show that you could find serious home shoppers in the most random of settings.

Besides perpetuating day-brightening random acts of kindness, being polite to passersby is one way to make an introduction. Manners win and great first impressions really do pay off!
