Despite encouraging sales with an earlier foray into real estate, Robert J. Slack didn't see much success when he chose to focus on it as a full-time career. Leads were few, inventory was low and he closed one or two homes each month, at most.

Although he’d lived in Florida for 20 years, working his sphere of influence generated little, if any, real estate leads. Slack tried another real estate website, but after six months, the site delivered only half the leads it promised and he didn't close on any of them.

He decided to purchase one ZIP code on Zillow and tripled his exposure in 31 days. Slack’s initial investment proved so successful that he was able to purchase two more ZIP codes. After just eight months, Slack generated so many qualified leads that he built a team of 10 agents to help him handle the sales.
