Our Commitment: Racism Has No Home Here

Last month, Zillow released a simple message: “Racism has no home here.” This message expresses our commitment to promoting equity, justice and fairness and establishes a bright line on where we stand.

This message is also reflective of our company’s core values, which are our guiding principles. Three of these values – Customers are our North Star, Do the Right Thing and Include and Empower – are at the center of our commitment to social justice.

At Zillow, we are first and foremost here to help customers in their home buying or selling journey and are driven to deliver an equitable experience that creates trust, confidence and delight. To deliver this experience, we must always hold ourselves accountable to act with integrity, even when no one is watching. We must also foster an environment of inclusion and are always searching to create equitable opportunities across the board.

We hold ourselves accountable to these values through our internal policies and expect the same from our partners and customers. In support of that goal, we have always had a Code of Conduct and Good Neighbor Policy that our partners and customers agree to before using our platform. These policies require all of our partners and customers to treat people equally, with respect, and in accordance with federal, state and local fair housing laws. What’s more, we will not tolerate racist, discriminatory, abusive, threatening behavior, or language and actions that encourage violence in any way by our partners or customers.

Racism has no home at Zillow – not among our employees, not among our partners, and not among our customers. It’s important to us that people recognize Zillow’s platform and brand as one that is actively working to combat racism and promote equality and justice. Partners and customers whose professional and public behavior both on and off Zillow platforms we believe falls outside of Zillow’s values and in violation of our policies, should expect to have their relationship with Zillow reviewed.
