We are investing in more ways to get you connected with sellers through a new marketing campaign and two new contact tags that give you more insight into your seller connections.

New marketing campaign to engage more sellers

We recently launched a marketing campaign to engage with more sellers in select seller connection markets with a plan to expand this to all seller connection markets soon and later, nationally.

The goal of the campaign is to further establish Zillow as a place for sellers to get the help they need and ultimately connect with you. To do that, we highlight the value of Zillow Showcase to help sellers sell fast and for more. We also emphasize that sellers have the option to connect with Premier Agent partners like you to sell their home. We are investing in this campaign across paid digital ads, emails, a dedicated webpage, and on Zillow.com.

New contact tags to help you personalize and prioritize

We’re introducing new contact tags for seller connections in the Premier Agent app and Follow Up Boss that give you insight into seller connections and help you prioritize and personalize your outreach to win more listings. These complement the existing “originated as seller” tag that identifies which of your connections were delivered to you through this program.

Identify sellers who are “High Intent”

What is it?

  • Sellers whose activity on Zillow suggests they are more likely to list their home for sale will be tagged as a “High Intent Seller” in both the Premier Agent app and Follow Up Boss, helping you prioritize getting in touch with clients more likely to move.
  • These sellers are almost 3x more likely to transact in a 6-month period than those not tagged. The tag will apply to less than 10% of all seller connections.

How does it work?

  • Zillow uses a machine learning model to determine which potential customers are more likely to sell in a 6-month period.
  • High intent sellers are determined based on many factors including customer browsing activity on Zillow.com, if they’ve claimed their home, interaction with some of our seller-specific resources like the Seller Listing Report, and more.

Identify sellers who have 'Connected with Opendoor”

Applicable in select markets

What is it?

  • Sellers who decide to connect with Opendoor through the seller dashboard to explore their initial cash offer will be tagged with a “Connected with Opendoor” tag. This lets you know where the seller is in their journey and their motivations so you can tailor your outreach.

How does it work?

  • This tag may appear upon initial connection but will not populate if the seller connects with Opendoor after being connected with you.
  • If you don’t see the “Connected with Opendoor” tag, that does not necessarily mean that the seller didn’t receive an initial cash offer from Opendoor, but it does indicate that if they did receive one, they did not yet choose to explore it further.

For agents using Follow Up Boss, we recommend creating a smart list to comb through your pipeline. A smart list is a saved search that highlights the contacts you need to follow up with. You can filter by Zillow connections with the “High Intent Seller” and “Connected with Opendoor”  tags, then create action plans based on the status of these connections in your pipeline.
