Today, Zillow Group® is announcing a new program, Zillow Group Data Connect (ZGDC).
ZGDC is a program that offers our industry partners access to free public records data, with broad usage rights. Partner MLSs will be able to obtain information about properties — including mortgage information, tax rates, physical attributes and mailing addresses — in addition to proprietary Zillow data.
MLSs often spend significant funds to buy or license public record data which their members can use to perform market research, enrich listing data, speed listing input and help with prospecting and business development.
ZGDC doesn't just make public data freely available, but also offers MLSs the opportunity to receive, and share with members, dynamic, frequently-updated data from Zillow, such as the Zestimate® and user-contributed data. Most data currently available to MLSs is static — it does not account for new details about the property or information from other sources; this new source of data, however, will give MLSs the freedom to innovate and build new products and services for their members.
Errol Samuleson, Zillow Group chief industry development officer, had this to say about ZGDC: “One of Zillow Group’s top priorities is to be an excellent partner to the real estate industry, as we innovate on behalf of home buyers and sellers. I’m thrilled to be able to offer this incredibly valuable, important program to our MLS partners. Offering this kind of information, for free and with very few usage restrictions, will continue to drive technology and innovation forward within the real estate industry.”
ZGDC is expected to be available in Q4 2015. For more information or to inquire about setting up a direct listing feed to Zillow Group, please contact partners@zillow.com.
