Response from Nicole Gilchrest on 8/31/2025
Yes, I have received many exceptional reviews because I’m good at what I do, I care about people, and I go the extra mile. However, the occasional individual has expectations that are not realistic. Ms. Massey’s review is the latest version of an ongoing, evolving narrative—one filled with misleading statements, key omissions, and inflammatory claims that may be considered libelous. These statements are clearly intended to damage my professional reputation. As I am a detail-oriented person, I will restate the essential points of this transaction in a factual manner. I began working with Ms. Massey in October 2022 and ultimately assisted her in purchasing a waterfront home along with an adjacent lot. The property was clearly identified as two separate parcels: Lot 5: Home and across-the-street parcel (70x166 with 70 feet of waterfront) Lot 6: Adjacent waterfront parcel and second across-the-street parcel (70x165 with 70 feet of waterfront) Combined, the lots offer 140 feet of buildable waterfront on Blackwater Bay—fully disclosed and accurately represented in all contracts, financing, and closing documentation, as well as the survey Ms. Massey paid for as part of the transaction. Before closing, Ms. Massey ordered and paid for a survey of both parcels from a local surveyor, as required by her lender, which is also a family member. While I assisted by obtaining quotes from several companies, it is not within a real estate agent’s scope to verify exact property boundaries. Lenders require licensed surveyors to provide accurate measurements and a map accurately depicting the size and boundaries of the property as part of the due diligence process for both homes and undeveloped lots. They do not, and should not, rely on agents for this information. The Title Company professionals may help interpret a survey, but they too, depend on the surveyor’s expertise, not speculation from agents. This process was followed in full accordance with industry standards. This matter has been factually addressed above. I will not respond further to any unwarranted defamation.
