Updated response. My true client called and apologized for his new wife's behavior and false postings. The person posting this review was posing as my client therefore; she is being deceitful at the start. I have only known her recently. I was hired by Chris who I have had a great working relationship previously for 8 years. In the 8 years of ownership, the property has always been a rental and he has never lived there. To get the house ready for sale, I obtained bids and oversaw all the work which took 3-4 months, I did this all in good faith so my client could sell the property. I was never paid for any of my efforts to do that. The property was severely neglected and even though I was not the property manager, I fielded calls from upset tenants all the time. When the "for sale" listing was ready to be activated, the client decided to change the list price at the last minute to way over market value which received no interest. Shortly after the listing was active, my client expressed he wanted to use the property as Airbnb and asked me to manage it. I am fond of these endeavors because we have owned a B&B in the past but, I declined. The client then added to offer the house for an annual lease. However, he extremely overpriced the rental amount even for this hot Tampa market which again received no interest. Both times my client went against my professional opinion of value and overpriced the home. He then again asked me to manage the property as an Airbnb. Instead I referred them to a property manager and agreed to sell them some of my staging furniture for his endeavor. I worked in good faith, but I can say I wasn't treated the same. I did not sell broken, glued and taped items. No repair receipts for electrical, new paint, home decor or broken furniture or anything were ever submitted. The false claims are meant to disparage my reputation over a bruised ego from a person that was not my client. My client's new partner's posts have been taken down on other platforms multiple times as she vindictively keeps posting. In the end almost all of our work was done for free. Extra items were left there free in good faith to help. My client purchased the other furniture from Kane's scratch and dent liquidation center and out of a mobile home which I arranged to have moved. Most of the decor items are brand new purchased at IHOME store with a promise to be reimbursed from my client. The staging furniture was in excellent condition and is posted on VRBO & Airbnb online listing photos. One just has to google search Hyde Park Hideway and find the link and see the staging furniture in beautiful condition with all our work that has obtained nothing but 5 STAR REVIEWS from VRBO & Airbnb. I believe the teal leather couch was probably off the track from the movers. IF the couch was broken that would be a liability on the client to still use it, but everything is still there. The 1 inch circular hole (front & back of hole being one hole not multiple holes) in the lathe plaster wall is hidden behind the mounted TV and was the only way to get the TV cord to an electrical outlet. The house is over 100 years old and outlet receptacles are few and far between so it made it impossible to hang the TV on the wall without it. Being that this house is100+ years old, the house has had layers of paint added over the years. The client did not want to pay to have the house properly prepped prior to paint. As background to the house, the house needed a new roof, new cedar siding for collapsing sides of house and wood rot window frames, new support for collapsing front porch overhang and wood rot repairs, failing porch brick work, leveling cement for failing concrete front porch, new skirting to keep rats out that chewed through A/C wires, new support for collapsing kitchen sink, cover exposed openings near window units, new interior & exterior paint, re-tile front of fireplace, install & replace non-working or damaged light fixtures, electrical work to make TV work in master bedroom because there were no viable outlets on old home, clean up and landscaping work and I personally deep cleaned blinds and floors. This has always been an investment property and my client has lived out of state the entire time as "they did not return home" as stated in the review. As yet another unpaid favor, I drove 2 hour round trip each time to this property to deliver 5 truck loads of Amazon items shipped to my house to avoid being a constant target for porch pirates and unfortunately the property manager I suggested offered no assistance. I then staged all items and then got rid of all the boxes. Another unpaid favor is I sat at the property all day to get their cable hooked up and their account is still under my Amazon account. All I can do is truly hope my client's new partner finds peace and I wish the best for the continued success using the property as a vacation rental.
