Wen grew up in China, she moved to Columbia Missouri in 2007 to pursue her graduate Engineering degree. She met her husband at Mizzou, got married and they now have three kids. Wen graduated with her Mechanical Engineering PH.D degree in 2012 and worked as Electron Microscopy Specialist. She later decided to stay home to focus on her kids, which is what lead to her real estate journey.
