This Halloween, home buyers can find a bargain in many cities by shopping on their local Elm Street… if they dare.

Nationwide, the median house on Elm Street is worth about $133,000 or roughly 40 percent less than the median U.S. home, estimated to be worth $220,100 as of September 2018. Such bargains on Elm Street can be found around the country, from Dunedin, Fla., to Bellingham, Wash. Nationwide, 2,246 cities have at least 10 homes on Elm Streets or directional variations like North Elm Street.

Looking more closely at how Freddy’s neighbors stack up to adjoining streets, we found that Elm Street homes are worth only about 12 percent less than the median home in their ZIP codes — although 6 percent less per square foot.
