South Addition sits just south of downtown Anchorage, between the city center and the open waterfront of Cook Inlet, with views toward the Chugach Mountains on clear days. Dining ranges from cafés and casual restaurants to downtown bars, and shops are concentrated in the city center. The neighborhood’s compact street grid makes walking and cycling practical, while nearby bus routes and major roads connect it to other parts of Anchorage.
