If you don't know already, this part of historic Stuyvesant Heights has been booming for a while and in the positive hope that things open back up one day you'll find tons of great local eats and drinks and a vibrant local community. Manny's down the street is one of my favorite cafes. Same group that opened Dough. Casa Blanca is one the best bars around. You have the JZ and the AC trains walking distance. The JZ is closer. The AC takes a good 12min to walk .
