Flanders, Kent Furnace, North Kent and Macedonia are rural areas of Kent in the Litchfield Hills, where wooded slopes, winding roads and the Housatonic River shape the landscape. The four-season climate brings snowy winters and warm summers, making outdoor plans change with the weather. Kent’s historic center has galleries, antiques shops, cafés and places to eat, while local shopping is concentrated along the town’s main streets rather than in large commercial centers. Nearby Kent Falls State Park is known for its cascading waterfall and walking paths; the Appalachian Trail also crosses the area, offering opportunities for hiking and scenic outings.
