Cayuga Heights sits on a wooded ridge north of downtown Ithaca, with hills, ravines and views toward Cayuga Lake shaping its setting. The climate brings snowy winters and warm, often humid summers. Cornell Botanic Gardens’ Newman Arboretum and nearby trails offer space for walking and enjoying the landscape; playgrounds and library services are available in the village area. Local dining and coffee spots are complemented by shops along Hanshaw Road, while downtown Ithaca’s restaurants, galleries and nightlife are a short trip away. The village’s history is reflected in its established residential streets and early-20th-century character. Walking and biking work well on local streets, while buses and car trips connect the area with Cornell, downtown and other parts of Ithaca. For the Cayuga Heights neighborhood, the median rent is $2,050 per month, with a typical range of $845 to $4,040.
