Our experience with Creative Homes was mixed. We had a unique situation: I was preparing to deploy with the Navy when we signed our contract with Jean Luke. Before leaving, I was able to select our lot and finishes, but my wife handled the entire build process alone until I returned about a month before completion. Unfortunately, working with Jean Luke was very disappointing. He was often unresponsive and came across as arrogant. My wife and mother had an unprofessional experience where he became hostile and disrespectful. There were delays in the build, and we later discovered options that were never communicated to us. When questioned about his lack of communication, he became defensive and hostile. Based on this experience, I would never recommend Jean Luke to anyone and would never work with him again. At one point, we even considered pulling out of the home because of his behavior. On the positive side, the build team was fantastic. They were helpful, respectful, and made sure my wife felt included in the process. Brent, in particular, has been extremely accommodating with post-move-in issues. Their professionalism was a stark contrast to our experience with Jean Luke. One major issue, possibly outside Creative Homes’ control, was with the lender Jean Luke recommended. Less than 24 hours before closing, we were told it had to be delayed due to a paperwork error. This caused significant stress since we had movers scheduled for the original date. It’s unclear how such an error wasn’t caught earlier. Overall, we love our home and are happy to be living in it now. However, certain individuals and missteps during the process left a sour taste and made the journey far more stressful than it should have been.
