When I started this company more than four decades ago, I wanted to build houses. Houses that people would be happy with; houses that were affordable and would stand the test of time. Over the years, I have learned that a house becomes a home when a family breathes life into it. And that gives meaning to what my family does every day. We all recognize them — the special events that become treasured memories and the family celebrations that become the traditions we honor. What makes a house a home is the family within. Building that opportunity is what makes this company special. More than that, this company has become a family. I see it in my children who have grown up building homes and who now share the vision by helping to lead our company. I see it in the husbands and wives and sons and daughters within our organizations as well as the young people that have joined us. I see it in our vendors that help us build these homes. This has become our tradition: a family building for other families. So that’s what we do. We build homes for families like yours, by a family like ours. That’s our tradition.
