In 1995, Jim Fincher founded Castlerock Homes and built under that name for many years until gaining a partner and forming Manchester Homes. In 2008, Jim saw the need for a better-built, energy-efficient home and founded Manchester Green Homes. For nearly 15 years, 100% of our homes were built and certified to the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). In fact, Manchester Green Homes is the only builder in the state to do this and we have gotten national recognition for many years now. Today we still build our homes using the NGBS as a guideline but no longer get the certification. Instead we now enroll our homes in the "One In Energy" program and Guaranteed Watt Saver Systems' "Home Energy Rating System" (HERS) program. Under these programs each of our homes go through strict third-party inspections and performance testing to ensure we're building the best, most energy-efficient home we can for the money.
