The Zillow connector brings Zillow's for-sale, rental, and off-market home listings into Claude and ChatGPT, so you can shop for a home, compare neighborhoods, check a ZestimateⓇ, and estimate what you can afford without leaving the conversation. Many answers include an interactive Zillow widget — a map of matching homes, a neighborhood comparison, or a monthly payment slider — alongside your AI’s response.
Once connected, Claude and ChatGPT can use Zillow for six kinds of requests:
| Capability | What it covers | Try asking |
|---|---|---|
| Search homes | For sale, for rent, and recently sold listings, with the full Zillow filter set. | "Find 3-bedroom homes for sale under $600K in Denver with a garage" |
| Explore neighborhoods | Compare U.S. cities or neighborhoods side by side, with for-sale and for-rent counts for each. | "Compare Wash Park, Sloan's Lake, and Berkeley in Denver" |
| Estimate affordability and payments | BuyAbility℠ — the home price you can comfortably afford — plus today's mortgage rates and a full monthly payment breakdown including principal and interest, taxes, insurance, PMI, and HOA | "What can I afford on $140K income with $60K down?" or "What's the monthly payment on a $550K home at today's rates?" |
| Look up a property | Full details for a specific off-market home — address, features, photos, and property history. | "Tell me about 1234 Elm St, Golden, CO" |
| Check a Zestimate | Current Zestimate with its estimated sale range, the comparable homes behind it, and the features that drive the difference. | "What's the Zestimate on 1234 Elm St?" |
| Check a Rent Zestimate or Zestimate history | Estimated monthly rent, and how a home's Zestimate has changed over time. | "How has the Zestimate on my house changed over the past three years?" |
You can also ask how the Zestimate works, how accurate it is, and why one might be missing for a particular home.
You can chain these in a single conversation: search a neighborhood, pull details on one home, check its Zestimate, then run the payment math — the AI assistants carry the context between steps.
The Zillow connector works with both Claude and ChatGPT. You don't need a Zillow account, login, or subscription for either — the connector is free.
For Claude
For ChatGPT
You can add Zillow from Claude's settings or directly from a chat.
In Settings → Connectors, Zillow should now appear in your connected list. In a chat, open the chat's connector settings and confirm Zillow is toggled on.
You can also start from a chat: select the + button in the message box, open the tools or apps menu, and look for Zillow there.
Zillow should appear in your enabled plugins or apps. In a chat, you can call it directly by typing @Zillow followed by your question.
Ask in plain language. You don't need special phrasing, though saying "Zillow" makes it more likely the AI assistant reaches for the connector rather than answering from general knowledge:
The first time the AI uses the connector it will ask permission to run a Zillow tool. Choose Allow once to approve that request only, or Always allow to approve future requests automatically.
When a request returns an interactive widget — a map of listings, a neighborhood comparison, or an affordability slider — you can explore it inline and select through to the full experience on Zillow.
Follow-ups work: narrow the price, add a bedroom, swap neighborhoods, or change your down payment, and the AI re-runs the search with your new criteria.
The Zillow connector is read-only and isn't tied to your Zillow account. It can't:
To ask about a home that's on the market, have the AI search for it rather than looking it up by address.
The AI answered a home question without using Zillow. Claude and ChatGPT decide when to call a connector. Include "Zillow" in your request, or be specific about what you want (a search, a Zestimate, an affordability estimate). If it still doesn't, start a new chat and confirm Zillow is toggled on in that chat's connector settings.
I don't see Zillow in the connector list. The connector is rolling out gradually and may not be available on every plan or in every region yet. If you're on a Team or Enterprise plan, your organization admin may need to enable it first.
Zillow is connected but unavailable in my chat. Start a new chat and make sure Zillow is toggled on in the chat's connector settings. Connectors enabled mid-conversation sometimes need a fresh chat.
No Zestimate came back for my home. Not every home has one — it depends on how much data Zillow has for that property and that market. Ask the AI why a Zestimate might be missing and it will explain the specific reasons.
The numbers in the AI differ from what I see on Zillow.com. Data refreshes at different times across surfaces, and Claude and ChatGPT may summarize or round. Zillow.com is the source of record for listing prices and availability.
You'll know it worked when Zillow shows as not connected. The Connect button lets you add it back at any time.
Your data. The connector is read-only and doesn't require a Zillow account, so it has no access to your Zillow profile, saved homes, or search history. What you type in Claude or ChatGPT is governed by Anthropic's and OpenAI’s privacy policies; Zillow's handling of data is governed by the Zillow Privacy Policy.
Estimates are estimates. The Zestimate and Rent Zestimate are Zillow's estimated market values, not appraisals. Affordability and monthly payment figures are estimates only — not financial advice, a loan offer, or a lending commitment. Actual rates and terms depend on underwriting and credit approval, and can change without notice.
Mortgage rates. Interest rates, APRs, and payment estimates are provided by Zillow Home Loans, LLC (NMLS #10287), an Equal Housing Lender. Rate and APR disclosures shown in Claude's responses are required disclosures and are presented as provided.
Fair housing. Zillow is committed to the Fair Housing Act and to equal access to housing. The connector searches on objective criteria — location, price, size, features, schools, commute — and will not steer results based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, or other protected characteristics. If a request relies on one of those characteristics, Claude will ask you to restate it using objective criteria instead.
